Wow, I stink at blogging! | Boise Photographer

Yes, we all know I totally stink at blogging. It’s really no surprise. I’ve thought many times of making the blog part of the website just disappear but I can’t quite bring myself to do it. I always have great intentions of blogging. I have a whole folder of images to be blogged on my hard drive just sitting there, ready and waiting for me to upload them and write a little something about the super cute kids and families they belong to. So, with all that said … I’m gonna try super duper hard to blog once a week for the rest of the year.

Since I haven’t blogged for so long, I’ll tell you what I’ve been up to. First of all, I now have a wonderful 1200 square foot studio that is awesome for sessions and ordering appointments! It’s been so nice to not have props filling up my garage and to be able to separate work and home a little better. My husband loves having his garage back.

Next, we had a washing machine leak everywhere and ruin the hardwood floors. They, of course, had to be replaced which caused a chain reaction of pinterest house projects and remodeling. This all started back in March when I decided I’d better repaint the walls and ceilings before the new floor went in, which was scheduled for early April. Let me just say, I will never ever ever paint another ceiling willingly again. The house is looking fabulous though! I went for a beach inspired color palette that just soothes my soul. I was lucky enough to get all new living room furniture that coordinates with my beach theme as well! We remodeled the downstairs bathroom, changed out the cabinets in the laundry room, my husband built an amazing spice rack for my pantry door, paint (obviously) on all the walls and ceilings, new hardwood, new tile in the laundry room, new carpet and the last thing yet to be done (tomorrow, finally!) is tile in the two bathrooms upstairs. Whew! It was so much work. I did all of the painting with the exception of the stairwell and the vaulted bedroom ceiling and high plant shelves. There’s certainly a great sense of accomplishment for all of the work we did. I’m starting to make plans for the backyard for next year. It’ll be way less work … I hope!

My little boy turned 10! I can hardly believe it still. He got some way cool Minecraft stuff that he thinks is awesome! Both kids let me photograph them, which was pretty awesome too!

During all of the remodeling my husband and I celebrated our 15th anniversary. He surprised me with a week long trip to a gorgeous all-inclusive resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It was so nice and relaxing. We had a wonderful time. After a week in paradise we were home for 2 short days and then went to McCall for 5 days for the Idaho and Eastern Oregon Fruit and Vegetable Association Convention. It’s a work thing for my husband but it’s more like a vacation for the kids and I. We had great warm weather and the kids played in the pool and the lake and I spent some quality time with my Kindle.

NOTE: There was 2 day break between beginning this and ending this!

Aside from some touch up paint and replacing a door with a broken seal my house remodel is NOW COMPLETE!!! Jump for joy! Now that all the mess and vacationing is said and done, I’m back to life as normal. I’ll work hard to try and blog more. I hope everyone out there is having a wonderful summer and enjoying the sun, heat and watching their kids as they go wild!!

And, this post would not be complete without a picture. So, here’s a little collage of the house and vacations! Yes, all but 2 of these are iPhone photos. But, the camera you have with you is always the best camera … because otherwise, you’d miss it entirely.
