Frequently asked questions
what should my child wear?
We recommend simple, classic clothing in mid tone colors. Neutrals like creams, khakis and grays are great choices. Stay away from bright white and pure black. Texture always photographs well, but avoid pattern for these sessions to keep the focus on your child's face. PLEASE avoid logos and cartoon characters. Our favorite places to shop for kids clothing are Janie and Jack, GAP kids, Nordstrom, Zara, and H&M.
can we get a sibling photo?
While the focus and priority of these sessions is on individual kids personality shots, we are happy to squeeze in a sibling photo at the end of your session if there is enough time.
what are the best ages for these sessions?
Really any age works! We have photographed babies all the way up to grown adult "kids". We recommend that babies are at least 6 months and are "confident" sitters - meaning they can sit on their own without any support. We would love to photograph all of you!
what if we can't make it?
Booking fees are non-refundable but you may apply it to a future Simply Kids or other session option within 6 months when 24 hours advance notice is given.
Can parents join the session?
Simply Kids sessions are reserved for individual portraits. If you would like to book a studio family session, we would love to arrange that for you! Thank you for your understanding.
