Fall is hands-down my favorite — and busiest — season for family portraits. The golden light, warm colors, and cooler temperatures make it the perfect time to capture your family in Boise's most beautiful outdoor settings.
Whether we're in the foothills surrounded by golden grasses, under the changing trees at Kathryn Albertson Park, or along a quiet path on the Boise Greenbelt, fall family photos have a warmth and richness that's hard to beat.
Fall family sessions are held on-location throughout Boise, Eagle, Meridian, and the Treasure Valley. I'll help you choose the perfect spot based on your style, your home decor, and the look you're going for.
Sessions are relaxed, fun, and guided — yes, we'll get the everyone-smiling-at-the-camera shot, but we'll also capture the real stuff. Belly laughs, cuddles, kids being kids. The moments that actually feel like your family.
And don't worry about your kids "behaving." I've been photographing families for 20 years and I always get beautiful images — even with the wiggly ones.

I've been photographing Boise families for 20 years and know all the best spots for fall color.
Some favorites include:
The Boise Foothills, Kathryn Albertson Park, MK Nature Center, The Boise Greenbelt, and many more!
We'll discuss your vision and finalize the location during your planning consultation.
Fall sessions are held 1.5-2 hours before sunset. Dates will be announced in late spring 2026. Sign up for the newsletter to be notified when fall sessions are open for booking.
I'll help you with wardrobe planning after you book. Generally, I recommend warm, earthy tones — rusts, creams, olive, mustard, navy — that complement the fall colors without competing with them. We'll coordinate your family's outfits to look pulled-together but not overly matched.
Please don't worry about this. I love kids of all ages and temperaments, and I've photographed thousands of families. I always get beautiful, genuine images — even when kids are having a tough day. I keep sessions fun, efficient, and low-pressure.
Absolutely — the more the merrier! I have several favorite locations that work well for larger groups. Reach out and we can discuss extended family session options.
Signature sessions are typically 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of your family and how many groupings you want. It's enough time to get a variety of images without exhausting the kids.
We'll keep an eye on the weather together. If it's looking rainy, we can reschedule to a backup date — I always have a few built into the fall calendar for this reason.
Yes please! Furry family members are welcome. We'll chat beforehand to make sure your dog is a good fit for the session and choose a dog-friendly location.
